Moscow, (ST) – The Russian government on Wednesday announced sending a shipment of humanitarian aid provided by the Russian people to the Palestinians in Gaza Strip.

RT website reported that an Il-76 plane belonging to the Russian Ministry of Emergencies took off from Russia to the Egyptian Al-Arish Airport carrying an aid shipment amounting to 29 tons, in preparation for transporting it to those in need in Gaza Strip.

This shipment of humanitarian aid was collected at the initiative of the government of the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia, and it contains grains, flour, sugar, healthcare materials, in addition to other necessary materials.

After the Russian humanitarian shipment arrives in Egypt, it is scheduled to be delivered to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, who will in turn transport it to Gaza Strip.
