Russia’s FSB aborts terrorist attacks planned by ISIS in Moscow and Astrakhan

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced in a statement on Monday that it has aborted terrorist attacks prepared by ISIS terrorist organization in Moscow and Astrakhan cities and in Kabardino-Balkaria Republic.

Six terrorists were eliminated and other two were arrested, the Russian FSB said pointing out that the attacks were planned to be carried out in summer 2021 by members of terrorist cells affiliated to ISIS.

Weapons, ammunitions, bombs as well as extremist books were found during search operations in the residence places of the terrorists, the FSB added.

On Saturday, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee in Russia announced the elimination of five terrorists in the capital of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria in the North Caucasus, noting that the terrorist group was planning to carry out terrorist crimes in this region.

Last Thursday in Moscow, the Russian Security forces arrested an ISIS-linked terrorist who was planned to detonate a bomb in a crowded place.
