Russia: Occupied Golan Integral Part of Syria

Russia reiterated its rejection of any attempt by the Israeli occupation entity to impose its “sovereignty” on the occupied Syrian Golan, stressing that the Golan is an integral part of Syrian territory.

In a tweet by the First Deputy of the Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, published on the website of the Russian diplomatic mission on Twitter, the Russian official stated: “We in Russia are concerned about the plans announced by (Israel) to expand its settlement activity in the occupied Golan, which contradict and violate the provisions of the 1949 Geneva Convention.” The Russian official added: “Russia does not recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which is an integral part of Syria.”
