Russia: Lavrov and Abdollahian meet tomorrow to discuss several issues, including Syria

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks in Moscow tomorrow with his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, on a number of international and regional issues, including the situation in Syria.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement published today and reported by the RT website: “The two sides are expected to discuss in particular the situation around the joint comprehensive plan of action regarding the Iranian nuclear program, in addition to the situation in and around Syria, issues related to the Caspian Sea region, the situation in Afghanistan, and other international issues.”

The statement indicated that the Russian and Iranian ministers will also discuss developments in the Middle East, against the background of the agreement to resume relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
