Russia is ready to help solve the problem of the ship stuck in the Suez Canal

On March 28thRussia’s Ambassador to Egypt Georgy Borisenko announced his country’s readiness to provide every  possible assistance to the Egyptian authorities to solve the problem of a container ship stuck in the Suez Canal. 

Russia is very sympathetic to Egypt regarding what is happening now in the Suez Canal, which is considered one of the important waterways for the whole world,” Russia Today quoted Borisenko as saying 

He expressed his country’s hope that this problem would be overcome in the very near future and that the canal’s operation would return to its normal state.

He added that the Russian side had not yet received any official request from Egypt regarding any possible assistance to dislodge  the ship. 

 The ship, Evergiven, whose length is 400 meters and has a carrying capacity of 224 thousand tons, was suspended on March 23 in the Suez Canal and blocked the waterway linking the Mediterranean with the Red Sea
