Moscow, (ST) – Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev discussed with the Commander of the Iranian Internal Security Forces, Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Radan, prospects for enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the security fields.
“During his meeting with Reza Radan on Wednesday in Moscow, Patrushev reviewed issues related to the continuation of Russian-Iranian cooperation within the framework of law enforcement and security agencies,” the RIA Novosti News Agency quoted the Russian Security Council as saying in a statement.
The visit, according to the council, includes “the signing of an agreement for cooperation in the field of law enforcement and identification of Russia’s capabilities in combating organized crime, as well as holding talks with a number of senior officials.”
The commander of the Iranian Internal Security Forces arrived in Moscow yesterday for a two-day visit at the official invitation of the Russian side. He is also scheduled to meet with leaders of the Russian Interior Ministry, the Federal Security Service and the National Guard.
