Russia & Iran renew call on the US to end its illegitimate existence in Syria

New York (ST):  The Russian Permanent envoy to the UN Vassily Nebenzia demanded that  the US put an end to its illegitimate existence in Syria, especially to the east of the Euphrates and halt the recurrent Israeli attacks on the Syrian territories.

During a UNSC meeting, Nebenzia reiterated the necessity of ending the US illegitimate existence and its occupation of some areas to the east of the Euphrates and returning their natural resources to the Syrian government.

Nebenzia referred to some Western media reports which said that the barbarous techniques used by the US occupation forces in digging for oil might lead to an environmental catastrophe north east of Syria and Iraq, adding that Syria loses 40 million US dollars daily, because it cannot reach its oil fields.

The Russian diplomat also referred to the fact that the terrorists of the so-called “ The Liberation of al-Sham organization” (previously al-Nosra Front) were still controlling Idleb Governorate stressing that all terrorist provocative attacks would be firmly repelled and all attempts being made to protect terrorists would fail.

He renewed calls on Israeli occupation to halt its recurrent aggressive attacks against Syrian territories.

In turn, the Iranian permanent representative to the UN Majid Takht Ravanchi reiterated Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity stressing the necessity for all foreign forces existing on the Syrian territories without the permission of the Syrian government to leave Syria.

He added that the US occupation forces continue to plunder the Syrian oil and support terrorist organizations under the pretext of combatting terrorism.

Ravanchi affirmed that the occupied Syrian Golan would always be part and parcel of  Syria, noting that the irresponsible  US recognition of Israel’s annexation of occupied Golan lacks legitimacy.
