Russia, Iran delegations to discuss the situation in Syria in the Astana meeting

Nur-Sultan , (ST) -The Russian delegation to the seventeenth regular meeting of talks within the framework of the Astana formula on Syria, headed by the Russian President’s special envoy to Syria Alexander Lavrentiev, met today in the Kazakh capital, Nur Sultan, with the Iranian delegation headed by the Iranian senior assistant foreign minister for special political affairs Ali Asghar Khaji.

The meeting dealt with coordinating the two delegations’ positions regarding the situation in Syria and discussing the points on the meeting’s agenda.

The work of the seventeenth regular meeting of the talks within the framework of the Astana formula on Syria, which will last for two days, began in the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan this morning.
