Russia renewed its criticism of the practices of the International Criminal Court based on double standards and politicization of files to serve the interests of some countries.
“Russia’s position on the activities of the International Criminal Court is well known,” Russian diplomat Sergei Leonidchenko said during the session of the Sixth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly on the report of the International Criminal Court on Wednesday, according to TASS.
He pointed out that the world does not know a precedent in which the International Criminal Court played a role that contributed to “establishing stability, whether in preventing the commission of new crimes or facilitating the process of national reconciliation.”
He believed that the judicial bodies in countries are able to effectively bring the guilty to justice, ensure fair trials and observe the rights of litigants.
