New York (ST): Anna Istigneva, the Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, affirmed that her country is always ready to help Sudan overcome the current difficulties and return to stability and peace.
The RT website quoted the Russian diplomat as saying in a speech during a session that took place last night at the UN Security Council to discuss the situation in Sudan: “We point out that the agreements reached at the end of the week regarding the cease-fire contributed in general to reducing and decreasing the intensity of hostilities in Sudan, although it could not stop it completely,” noting that many external players have interfered in the ongoing political process in Sudan.
