Russia expresses its concern over the Israeli escalation in Jenin

Moscow, (ST) – Russia expressed its deep concern over the Israeli occupation’s escalation of its aggression against the city of Jenin and its camp in the occupied Palestinian territories, which resulted in the death of 12 Palestinians and the injury of 140.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its official website on Wednesday: The current escalation, not only creates additional obstacles to finding a political settlement to the Palestinian issue, but also seriously threatens regional stability as a whole.

The Foreign Ministry stressed that further delay on the part of the international community is undermining the legal framework for the settlement of the Palestinian issue, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy. The ministry reaffirmed Russia’s firm and unchangeable position, represented by the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Al- Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.
