The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the expulsion of two employees of the Finnish embassy in Moscow, in response to the unjustified expulsion of employees of the Russian embassy in Helsinki.
The Russian Foreign Ministry made a statement today, which was circulated by Interfax News Agency, that “The Finnish ambassador to Russia, Antti Helantira, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, and a strong protest was lodged to the head of the diplomatic mission regarding the unjustified expulsion of employees of the Russian embassy in Helsinki from Finland.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement added that “In response to these actions by the Finnish authorities, the Russian side took a decision not to accept the presence and residence of two employees of the Finnish embassy in Moscow.”
