Russia condemns Israel’s targeting of United Nations personnel and humanitarian relief employees in Gaza Strip
New York, ST) – Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia affirmed his country’s condemnation of the Israeli occupation forces’ targeting of cadres and employees of international humanitarian organizations in the Gaza Strip.
TASS quoted Nebenzia as saying during a session of the UN Security Council yesterday: “We call on Israel to strictly abide by the provisions of international humanitarian law, and we condemn the attacks on United Nations personnel and employees of humanitarian organizations working on the ground.
“We support the Secretary-General’s call for an international and independent investigation into all cases of killing of those who help Palestinians survive,” he added.
Nebenzia pointed out that there are no fixed channels for providing humanitarian aid in Gaza Strip, as “Israel” prevents the entry of three thousand trucks loaded with humanitarian aid through the Rafah and Kerem Shalom crossings, and Israeli aircrafts strike the areas in the center and south of Gaza Strip.
Nebenzia recalled the discovery of seven mass graves of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
He added:” We are awaiting the results of the independent investigation that the UN Security Council called for in its statement.”
