Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin called for an increase in the share of international payments in the Russian currency.
“It is necessary to continue to increase the share of international payments in rubles with the gradual refusal to use the currencies of unfriendly countries,” RIA Novosti quoted Mishustin as saying today, Tuesday, the 30th of August 2022.
On March 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree requiring that payments for Russian gas supplies to “unfriendly countries” be paid in rubles.
