Russia and Saudi Arabia call for ending the Israeli aggression on Gaza and providing humanitarian aid to the Palestinians

Russia and Saudi Arabia have called for an end to the aggression on Gaza and the protection of its Palestinian population in accordance with international law, in addition to facilitating ways to bring humanitarian aid into the besieged Strip.
RT website quoted a joint Saudi-Russian statement issued today at the conclusion of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Saudi Arabia, saying: “Moscow and Riyadh express their deep concern about the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, and stress the need to enable international humanitarian organizations to play their role in providing humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinian people, including United Nations organizations, especially the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees UNRWA, as well as supporting the efforts of these organizations.”
In the statement, Russia and Saudi Arabia stressed enabling the Palestinian people to achieve their goals and implement international resolutions related to the legitimate rights of the Palestinians so as to establish an independent, sovereign state with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.
Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed last Monday that the situation – that the protracted conflict in the Middle East has reached – has acquired the characteristics of a real humanitarian catastrophe.
