Russia and Iran emphasize ending foreign interference in the region

Tehran, (ST) – Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Wednesday stressed the importance of ending foreign interference in the region.

IRNA reported that the two sides considered the interference of non-regional countries to be the main cause of destabilization and chaos in the region.

The two parties also discussed opportunities to develop cooperation between the two countries to confront common threats and systematic terrorism.

Minister Sergei Shoigu arrived in Iran today to hold talks with military leaders, with the aim of strengthening Russian-Iranian military relations and developing cooperation between the two countries.
