Russia’s ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, stressed that a state that sponsors international terrorism, which has destroyed many countries and claimed millions of lives, has no right to play the role of judge or talk about war crimes.
In a press statement, according to RIA Novosti, Antonov stressed that the US State Department’s statements regarding the alleged “war crimes” in Ukraine go beyond the framework of common sense and that Washington’s attempt to grant itself the right to determine who is a “war criminal” is repulsive. He noted that the purpose of such American accusations is an attempt to “demonize our country in the eyes of the public to incite Russia.
“It is not possible, in principle, for a state which is responsible for killing hundreds of thousands of lives all over the world, destroying many countries, causing dozens of humanitarian disasters and creating hotbeds of international terrorism to play the role of judge,” Antonov said.
