Russia,Algeria:political settlement to crisis in Syria imperative

MOSCOW, (ST) –”Russia and Algeria agree on the need to reach a political settlement to the crisis in Syria,”said Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov.

Lavrov’s remark was made during a joint press conference with his Algerian counterpart, Murad Madlasi, in Moscow on Tuesday.

” France is fighting terrorists in Mali and, at the same time, supporting the gunmen who came from Libya to Syria,”underscored Lavrov.

Madlasi ,for his part,asserted  that the international community should support the reconciliation process and the national dialogue as to solve the crisis  in Syria.

He lauded Russia’s efforts to hold the international conference on Syria, affirming  that fighting terrorism in Lebanon contributed to stabilizing the region.
