On September 23, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani reiterated that his country wants a comprehensive peace in the region, pointing out that it will submit a project to the United Nations to ensure security in the region.
“This project will be titled ‘the Hormuz Security Initiative’ and aimsat enhancing the cooperation of the countries of the region. We hope that the region’s solutions will befrom within and not from outside,” Rouhani said in a statement ahead of his attendance at the UN General Assembly in New York.
Rouhani called on all countries in the Gulf and Hormuz to join the Iranian initiative.
Rouhani said that his participation in the meetings of the General Assembly is an opportunity to clarify the position of Iran and the unjust actions taken against it.
He pointed out that the Americans are perplexed as they have done their utmost against Iran. Washington has reached the utmost level of sanctions and began to repeat them against Iran.
On the sideline of the General Assembly meetings,Rouhani will hold meetings with leaders of other countries to discuss the nuclear agreement.
Regarding the attack on Saudi Aramco, he said that this operation was a Yemeni reply to the attacks on the Yemeni people.
Rouhani said that the United States wants to take the Saudi oil and seize the region.
