Rouhani: The transfer of terrorists from Syria and other regions to near the Iranian borders is totally unacceptable

Tehran,(ST)-Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed that the transfer of terrorists from Syria and other regions to areas near the Iranian borders is totally unacceptable for his country.

Reports confirmed that the Turkish regime transferred a number of its mercenaries from northwestern Syria to the Nagorno Karabakh region to participate in the fighting there.

In a speech during the Iranian government meeting today, Rouhani warned of the danger of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia turning into a regional war and said: “In my conversations with Armenian and Azerbaijani officials, I stressed Iran’s security and emphasized that no problem can be solved through war and bloodshed,” indicating that his country will not allow to the terrorists to approach Iranian borders.

Rouhani indicated that the Iranian lands were hit by shells as a result of the ongoing battles in the Nagorno Karabakh region, which is unacceptable, pointing out that Tehran conveyed to the parties to the conflict its concerns about the security of the region.

Rouhani reiterated his country’s readiness to help resolve the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan through dialogue and diplomatic means.
