Rouhani: The European Union is not fulfilling its duty regarding American violations

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed that the European Union is not fulfilling its duty regarding the US violations and illegal measures.

“The relations between the countries should be based on humanitarian principles and hostile policies should be addressed,” Iranian News agency (IRNA) quoted Rouhani as saying in a telephone conversation today with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. “But despite the current extremely difficult circumstances, America is intensifying its siege on Iran, which also affects the pharmaceutical sector”.

Rouhani referred to Iran’s request for a loan from the International Monetary Fund to combat the Coronavirus, reiterating that “the United States has also opposed the payment of this loan and we expect the European Union and Spain to take a stand against this illegal act.”

Rouhani had stressed in previous statements that the American illegal blockade of his country in light of the Corona outbreak reflects their foolishness because it is a global pandemic, which in turn requires all to unite to contain it and limit its effects.
