Rouhani: The assassination of Soleimani came as revenge on Iran and the peoples of the region

Tehran, (ST) –   Iranian President Hassan Rouhani affirmed that the assassination of the Commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Major General Qassim Soleimani by the American administration came as revenge against Iran and the peoples of the region for standing up against Zionist plots.

Rouhani said during his speech before the Iranian government on Wednesday on the first anniversary of the assassination of Soleimani and his companions that, the outgoing US President Donald Trump and his Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are responsible for this crime in addition to other parties, stressing that the Iranian people will not stop pursuing these criminals.

Rouhani stressed that the terrorist organization ISIS is the creation of the Zionists and the Americans, who are the primary beneficiaries of creating unrest and a security breakdown in the region, noting that the Zionists have main interest in destabilizing the situation in Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Afghanistan.
