Rouhani: People sent similar message in presidential, parliamentary polls

Bushehr – President Hassan Rouhani said in his Sunday press conference that people’s massage in 2014 presidential elections and 2016 parliamentary elections was the same as they defined the type of interactions they demand from their president and MPs.

‘The people in the presidential elections made clear their order for the government, telling the country’s executive body that they did not favor quarrels, breaking up, fights and disputes, asking their government to interact positively with the world and to heed the people’s material needs,’ he said, according to IRNA.

Rouhani added that the people’s message in the recent parliamentary elections, too, was the same and revolved around their preferred type of interactions, this time between their parliament members and the government on the one hand and the world on the other hand.

‘We will see the crossing point of those two messages in the interactions between the 10th Parliament and the government,’ he added.

President Rouhani all the same reiterated that his cabinet had also good interactions with the 9th Parliament, adding, ‘However I think our interactions with the next parliament will be better and more fruitful.’

‘The achieved result is in conformity with the Supreme Leader’s advice that the government and people should harmonize both in their words and deeds and we practically witnessed harmony in deeds and words in this recent parliamentary election,’ he added.
