Tehran – President Hassan Rouhani said that Iranian nuclear negotiators are working to reach dignified nuclear deal to ensure the rights of Iranian nation, observing the red lines.
He told a press conference on the anniversary of his landslide presidential election victory that all the general topics accepted by both the Islamic Republic of Iran and the G5+1.
‘We still have many differences of opinion and all them should be settled. We are fully serious in the talks and are not by all means after wasting or killing time. We do not consider time limit and are not in a hurry.
However, we will use all the existing opportunities to reach an agreement.
He referred to the message of the presidential election and said that the call of Iranian nation must be heeded, adding that the framework drawn by the leadership of the Islamic Republic has always been on the focus.
He noted that if the other party follows the same framework and does not seek adventurism, the agreement will be accessible.
On sanctions, he said that in principle, there is no doubt that all economic sanctions will be lifted following an agreement.
He said that in the past one year more than eight million dollars were saved from import of farming and agricultural products.
‘So the government has well planned for the sanctions; however, the sanctions have never been successful and failed to reach objectives.’
Government will not allow inspection to military sites, says Rouhani
President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday that the government will not let inspection to military sites in the process of carrying out the Additional Protocol to Non-Proliferation Treaty or any other deal with the western governments.
He told a press conference on the anniversary of his landslide presidential election victory that the additional protocol to NPT does not require the signatories to open their military sites to inspection.
Currently, some 120 signatories have opted for the Additional Protocol to NPT voluntarily and it would be better for Iran to opt for the Additional Protocol to indicate the futility and baselessness of the propaganda campaign against Iranian nuclear program.
‘By implementing the additional protocol, Iran wants to prove to the international community that that the allegations raised against nuclear program are baseless.’ Asked about implementation of Article 44 of the Constitution is very important for economic development and welfare of the nation and the Supreme Leader has termed privatization of the national economy as per Article 44 of the Constitution a big economic revolution.
He said Iran’s rank in business has reached 130 from 152 indicating a positive move.
Asked about Iranian contribution to the international campaign against terrorism, President Rouhani said Iran’s regional policy has not changed and Iran is committed to help regional countries to fight terrorism.
‘We consider campaign against terrorism as our important duty. We predicted the trends of events in the region two years ago. We proposed Initiative of the ‘World against Violence and Extremism’ (WAVE) to the United Nations General Assembly.’
The president complained about lack of action on part of the International Community despite members of the General Assembly adopted the WAVE Initiative unanimously.
He expressed concern about the current security situation in the Middle East. He said that Iran supports the international campaign against terrorism in Iraq and Syria by providing military advice to the Iraqi and Afghan governments.
