Rouhani Meets al-Moallem, Stresses Terrorism Sponsors Should Stop their Support for Terrorist Organizations

TEHRAN, (ST)-President Hassan Rouhani of Iran has stressed that the parties which established terrorist organizations should stop their support to terrorism.

Rouhani’s remarks came during his meeting on Tuesday with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid Al-Moallem in Tehran.

Rouhani, who reiterated Iran’s constant support for Syria in confrontation of the ongoing terrorist war, affirmed that thanks to the steadfastness of the Syrian people and army, Syria will manage to defeat terrorism.  

On his part, al-Moallem talked about the conspiracy targeting Syria and the involvement of some regional and western countries in supporting terrorism, stressing the need to pressure these countries to stop their support for the terrorist organizations.

The minister affirmed that the Syrian people, army and leadership will keep steadfast as to defeat terrorism and restore security and stability to the country.

Al-Moallem, whose talks with Rouhani focused on the critical situation in the region because of terrorism, expressed Syria’s gratitude to Iran for its support to the Syrian government in all domains.

The meeting was attended by Iran’s Foreign minister Javad Zarif, Syria’s Ambassador to Iran Adnan Mahmoud in addition to senior Syrian and Iranian officials.
