Rouhani: America and Israel’s plans related to the “Deal of the Century” and the occupied Syrian Golan are doomed to failure
On September 25, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani said that the US and Israeli occupation plans related to the so-called ‘Deal of the Century’ and the occupied Syrian Golan are doomed to failure.
“The US and Israeli plans such as the Deal of the Century , the declaration of occupied Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and Washington’s declaration of the recognition of the occupied Syrian Golan as part of Israel are doomed to failure,” Rouhani said in a speech to the United Nations’ General Assembly in its 74th session.
Rouhani added that the occupation of land, settlement building and genocide are still going on in Palestine, pointing out that the Palestinian people are the victims of the Israeli aggression and occupation.
Rouhani condemned Washington’s sanctions policy and economic terrorism. He said that the current US administration’s approach to the nuclear agreement is not only a violation of UN resolution 2231 but an attack on the sovereignty of all the countries of the world and their political and economic independence.
Rouhani stressed Iran’s rejection of the proposal to negotiate with an enemy that wants Iran to surrender by using the weapons of pressure and sanctions. He said that the only way to dialogue is to return to the commitments under the nuclear agreement and stop the embargo on Iran.
He said that Iran’s goal is to maintain peace and stability in the Gulf and to provide security and freedom for maritime navigation in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Rouhani called for ‘an Alliance of Hope’, which aims to promote peace, stability, progress and prosperity for all nations of the Strait of Hormuz.
He pointed out that the formation of any security alliance and under any name in the region with the leadership of foreign forces is an interference in the region’s affairs.
“The region’s security is achieved by the departure of US forces and security cannot be bought or provided through foreign countries,” Rouhani said.
