Resupplying electricity to power station in Palmyra

On June 8th, the Ministry of Electricity repaired Palmyra electricity transformer 20-66 kV and put it back into service after  it had been destroyed by terrorists .

The Director General of the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Corporation, Eng. Fawaz Al-Daher, said that the station suffered great damage and was rebuilt with national expertise, and the cost was reduced from ten billion Syrian pounds to about three billion Syrian pounds.

Al-Daher explained that the rebuilding of the 66 kV high-voltage line from the T-4 Station on the Homs-Palmyra Road, with a length of about 70 km, increases the stability of the electrical network in Palmyra and its surroundings.

The Director of the General Company for Electricity of Homs, Engineer Bassam Al-Rifai, indicated that six exits from the station would be invested to secure electrical power in the Western Al-Biyarat area to serve the farmers and improve the agricultural situation and the Al-A’mmi wells area for drinking water.

Al-Rifai pointed out that work will also be done to secure a 400 kV transformation center and the electrical network for the Al-Amiriya district, north of Palmyra.
