Restoring Stability, Fighting Corruption New Government’s Top Priorities: Premier

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Restoring security and stability to Syria, fighting corruption, launching reconstruction and improving the living conditions of the Syrian citizens are among the new government’s top priorities, Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi has stressed.

National Reconciliation

Al-Halqi, who was speaking yesterday to the Syrian TV, said the new government will keep supporting and deepening national reconciliation across the country in cooperation with different government, religious and social parties and will continue to fight the takfiri mentality.

According to the premier, great attention will be accorded to the displaced families and relief work in order to compensate terrorism-affected citizens.

The public sector will get the support of the government to be more effective in the country’s production process and is to focus on the agricultural and industrial sectors in addition to the small and medium-sized enterprises, al-Halqi said.

Fighting Corruption

The Prime Minster also affirmed that the government’s priorities will contain fighting corruption and administrative reform, referring to the establishment of the Administrative Development Institute to make reforms in the administrative and organizational structure of the state’s establishments.

Al-Halqi asserted that martyrs’ families and the wounded people who scarified to maintain Syria’s sovereignty, independence and unity in addition to the kidnapped, the detained and the missing ones will get special care by the new government.

Social Support Policy

The new government will continue the social support policy taking into consideration the poorest categories in society, said al-Halqi, who urged the ministers to make contacts with popular, social and unionist parties to draw up the policy of the coming era with complete transparency.

Security Situation

According the premier, the security situation in Syria is gradually improving and terrorism is retreating despite the limitless military, political and media support for terrorist groups by many countries in the world.

He stressed that the Syrian Arab Army is pressing ahead with the battle against terrorism and it is making great successes with the help of national people in the country.
