Restoration and reconstruction of popular market in Aleppo

The restoration and reconstruction  work of the popular market (Aleppo shops) has begun in cooperation between the Aleppo City Council and the Aleppo Chamber of Commerce.

CEO of Aleppo Markets Company, Jamal Hindawi, said in a statement to SANA reporter that work is continuing to restore the economic flow in the popular markets that have been destroyed by terrorism, including the markets of Hanano and Aleppo shops, with the aim of activating them and providing services to citizens, especially after the return of the people to Dahrat Awad neighborhood.

Hindawi pointed out that the market includes 149 shops, two wedding halls and rest houses. The area of the ground floor of the market is 2,358 square meters, while the area of the first floor is 1,483 square meters.  The rubble has been removed and restoration work has begun, and it includes infrastructure, water and sewage networks, electricity, communications, and iron installation for ceilings. This project provides about a thousand job opportunities for the people of the neighborhood in different fields and various professions, which will reflect positively on the living conditions of the beneficiaries and provide products to the consumer at symbolic and encouraging prices.
