Resistance Ready to Confront Zionists’ New Aggression, Says al-Bazm

TEHRAN – Gaza’s Interior Ministry Spokesman Iyad al-Bazm said the ministry and the resistant front are ready to give a crushing response to any possible aggression by the Israeli army.

Speaking to FNA, Bazm said the Israeli air force has increased flights over Gaza in a bid to collect intelligence, but said there is a weak possibility for a new Israeli aggression on Gaza.

There is no sign to indicate that the Zionist regime has decided to launch a new aggression against the Gaza Strip, but the Palestinian interior ministry in Gaza and the resistance have readied themselves for all possibilities and we always have plans for emergency situations and crises,” he added.

Israeli warplanes last week carried out mock air raids in Gaza skies, while Israeli navy gunboats opened their fire at fishermen offshore Gaza, according to WAFA.

Israeli F16 planes flied over the Gaza Strip at low altitude and launched mock raids over the strip and flew heat balloons in the air, which Israel uses to divert intense anti-aircraft fire.

Loud explosions were heard across the strip, spreading fear and panic among residents, particularly children.

Meanwhile, Israeli navy soldiers targeted fishermen boats sailing within the six-nautical miles zone allowed for fishing, however, no injuries were reported among them.

Fishermen were forced to leave the sea for fear of being killed, injured or arrested.

Israel continues to breach the Egyptian brokered truce agreement reached on August 26, 2014, following 51 days of bloody aggression against the strip.

During the Egypt-brokered ceasefire indirect talks, Israel agreed to extend the fishing zone to six nautical miles, a term that was stipulated under the 2012 ceasefire agreement, but was rescinded by Israel just a few months later.
