Residents of Nuseirat camp in Gaza: Israel’s crime has affected our daily bread

The clock was 3 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, when the workers inside the Nuseirat camp bakery were racing the time to prepare the bread for about 50 thousand Palestinians in the camp.

Suddenly, the Israeli occupation missiles and gunfire fell on the bakery, killing many of the workers who worked relentlessly to provide bread to the displaced families in the shelters established by UNRWA.

The fire resulted from of the Israeli bombing and the smoke emitted from the bakery surrounded the shelter center anud gas leakage from the cylinders inside the bakery in the Nusseirat camp. Children and women were screaming and people rushed to carry their children while they were asleep, for fear of the explosion of the cylinders that have already caused huge explosions due to the bombing.

Muhammad Abu Dahrouj, who was next to the bakery inside his car, which he took as a house after he lost his house in the Israeli bombing, said that the Israeli attack killed three workers and others who were waiting to get bread.

He added that the bombing of the Nusseirat camp did not stop throughout the night, spreading terror among children and women.

For his part, Hassan Nabhan explained that the bombing of the occupation and the killing and injury of those inside aimed to starize the Palestinians so that they do not find bread.

He added that food has run out and children are now living in difficult conditions due to shortages of water and food.

The seriousness of the situation is not limited to the lack of food. Drinking water is also not available for the stopping of pumping stations as a result of the power outage for the tenth day in a row, which caused a severe shortage of water, and many Palestinians were enforced to drink polluted water so that they do not die of thirst.

The continuous Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip for the 12th day, and the strict siege imposed on it, is threatening with a humanitarian and health catastrophe against more than two million Palestinians without water, food, fuel and medicine, and half of these Palestinians are displaced in shelters and UNRWA schools.
