Republic Cup: Jaish, Musfat Banias win
DAMASCUS, (ST) – Jaish and Musfat Banias have made it through to the 2014 Republic Cup final .
En route to the final, Jaish defeated their arch rival Wahda 2-0 at the Tishreen stadium in Damascus.
The first half ended in a stalemate.
Early in the second half, Mohammad Hamdkou put his side in the lead with a close-range shot after he capitalized on a fatal blunder committed by a Wahda defender.
Mohammad Akkad made it 2-0 in the 70th minute weit a fierce drive just outside the penalty box.
Wahda tried relentlessly to amend the score but to no avail.
In another action, Musfat Banias, for the first time in their history, were able to reach the final after beating Ittihad 2-0 at the Faiha stadium in Damascus.
Early in the first half, veteran akram Ali put his side in the lead while Bassel Mustafa hit home in the 6th minute.
