Repeated Israeli raids on Syria receive wide condemnation

Arab countries have affirmed their condemnation of the Israeli raids that targeted different Syrian areas and that killed and injured dozens of people.

Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the attacks, reiterating its rejection of the Israeli attempts to threaten the security and stability of Syria and the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia stressed in a statement today that the international community, especially the permanent members of the Security Council, should play effective role, by standing firmly and seriously against the ongoing Israeli violations in Syria and the region, and activating international accountability mechanisms.

For its part, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Israeli occupation’s raids and the incursion of its forces into Syrian territory, deeming them a flagrant violation of international law.

The ministry affirmed Iraq’s support for the Syrian people.

Meanwhile, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) described the continued and escalating Israeli aggression and incursion into various areas within Syrian territory as a flagrant violation of international law, international legitimacy resolutions, and Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a statement, the organization reiterated its full solidarity with Syria and its people, and stressed the need to respect the sovereignty, unity, independence and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic.

The organization called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to put an end to these repeated Israeli attacks that threaten regional peace and security.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi called on the international community to take concrete measures to stop the repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory.
