Remarkable results for judo team in Lebanon

DAMASCUS,(ST)-The national judo team have achieved a remarkable result as they came first in the Arab Judo Championship which was held in Beirut, Lebanon.

The team clinched five varied medals (2 gold,3 silver) through Suleiman Rifa’I (60 kg), Adnan Khankan (90), Fadi Darwish (66 kg), Mohammad Qassim (81 kg) and Waseem Afandi (73 kg).

The national team also took part in the Sambo (a discipline of judo) contest.

It is to be noted that eight Arab teams participated in the said event: Iraq, Yemen, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan plus the Syrian national team.
