Director of Industry in Damascus countryside province Mohammad Fayyad has declared that the province witnesses a remarkable growth in the number of licensed industrial facilities since the start of this year.
He has asserted that the number of the facilities that have been put into service is the highest, compared to the previous years, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).
The agency quoted Fayyad as saying that 240 facilities with the capital 15 billion Syrian Pound out of 881 facilities with the capital 83 million Syrian pound have been put into service since the start of 2021.
“The implementation percentage of facilities in 2021 is 30%, compared to 10% last year,” he added, pointing out that Syrian investors returned from abroad and carried out projects in the fields of power, hospitals’ equipment and medical laboratories.
Fayyad referred to the fact that the Syrian government is doing its utmost to attract investors and encourage local production.
“Over the past two months, licenses were given to 120 industrial facilities that will ensure 1635 job opportunities,” he clarified.
In the same context, the statement that was recently released by the Ministry of Industry showed that the number of industrial licenses in Adraa industrial zone until the end of last August reached 3,757.
