Al-Waz further added that Syria’s participation in the said event has enlisted within the framework of the federation’s plan to take part in the forthcoming world and West Asia championships.

“as a matter of fact,we have participated in the UAE event with only one player .But the results were wonderful.Al-Mohammad was able to go head-to-head with champions from Russia and other opponents from West Asia nations. We (the federation) are currently mapping out a plan for increasing the number of our players in the upcoming events including the World Powerlifting Championship which will be hosted by Dubai (5-11 April),”emphasized al-Waz.
