DEIR EZZOR, (ST)-Dr. Abd Najm Al-Obaid , director of Deir Al-Zour Health Directorate described the general health situation in Deir Al-Zour city as “acceptable”, stressing relentless work to supply the directorate with medicines, medical staff and ambulance cars.
Dr. Al-Obaid told SANA that the health sector is currently providing treatment to patients at Al-Assad Hospital, the Military Hospital and in four health centers in the city.
He pointed out that “there is shortage in some kinds of medicines which will hopefully be ensured via the Ministry of Health or be bought directly from the market after the siege which was imposed by the terrorists on the city was broken”.
“The Health Directorate in coordination with the Ministry are to spare no effort to help the doctors who left the city return to their works as soon as possible” he added.
Al-Obaid said that immediately after the siege was broken, the Ministry provided the Health Directorate in the city with an ambulance, a mobile clinic and 4 cars for transporting critical patient cases to hospitals outside the province, noting the need for 10-15 ambulances to improve the performance of the health system.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Health sent on September 6th ambulances as well as a mobile clinic and 9 tons of medicines and medical equipments to support the heath sector in city of Deir Ezzor.
