Relations between Syria and Oman are based on historical, cultural legacy: Omani Al-Watan newspaper

Muscat, (ST) –  The Omani newspaper Al-Watan confirmed that the Omani-Syrian relations have always been based  on a historical and cultural legacy and on preserving the basic rules of relations – respect, honesty, love and non-interference in the internal affairs of the two countries.

The paper stressed that the relations between the two countries are also based on placing the interests, aspirations of the Omani and Syrian peoples at the highest level of priorities.

In its editorial today, the newspaper said: The Sultanate of Oman has always been keen to be the best supporter of brotherly Syria in all difficult situations, the latest of which is standing by it in order to overcome the repercussions of the recent earthquake disaster that struck the Syrian lands.

The newspaper pointed out that the reception of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to President Bashar Al-Assad, who paid a working visit to the Sultanate of Oman yesterday, credibly expresses the depth of relations between the leaderships of the two brotherly countries. It added that this visit reflects the keenness of the two leaderships to benefit from the brotherly distinguished relations in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Sultanate and Syria.

The newspaper concluded by saying: These noble feelings exchanged between the two leaderships reflect the extent of fraternal interdependence and the depth of the roots and unifying foundations of the Omani and Syrian civilizations.
