A leading source in the General Security Directorate told SANA: “We announced a curfew in the cities of Latakia and Tartous, and the start of extensive combing operations in the city centers, villages, towns and surrounding mountains. The combing operations will target the remnants of al-Assad’s militias and those who supported and backed them, and we advise our civilians to stay in their homes and immediately report any suspicious movements.”

The source added: “We send a message to those who want to hand over their weapon and themselves to the judiciary to hurry up by heading to the nearest security point.”

“Our forces have begun deploying in the cities of Latakia and Tartus in support of the General Security Administration forces against the remnants of al-Assad’s militias, and to restore stability and security to the region.” The source confirmed.
