The Road Transportation Branch in Hama province has started the rehabilitation and maintenance of the terrorism-affected Damascus-Aleppo Highway which lies within the liberated countryside of Idlib governorate.
This process comes within the framework of Syria’s efforts to reconstruct what terrorism has destroyed during the war on the country.
Director of the branch Kheder Fattoum told SANA that 71 km long road is to be rehabilitated within Idlib governorate, starting from the city of Khan Sheikhoun and then Maaret Al-Nouman city as well as tens of villages on both sides of the road and ending up with the city of Saraqeb.
He clarified that 60,000 cubic meters of asphalt have been allocated to rehabilitate the sections of this international road.
Fattoum went on to say that the international road witnessed heavy commercial and traffic movement between the governorates of Aleppo, Hama, Damascus and Homs, and it is a major artery that connects between main Syrian governorates.
He pointed out that the Road Transportation Branch will continue with its efforts to maintain the road’s good technical situation to facilitate the transport movement.
