A meeting was held in the Planning and International Cooperation Authority building to discuss the action plan for the restoration
and rehabilitation of the Rastan Bridge in Homs countryside.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Public Works and Housing Mustafa Abdel Razzaq, the Chairman of the Planning and
International Cooperation Authority Musab Badawi and the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Syria,
Muhammad Siddiq Mudawi.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in variousfields were discussed, as well as the sharing of expertise and experience,
particularly in the field of reconstruction.
The Minister of Public Works and Housing affirmed the ministry’s readiness to overcome all obstacles to expedite the bridge’s
rehabilitation.
The head of the Planning and International Cooperation Commission emphasized the importance of cooperating with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to restore the bridge within the shortest possible timeframe because it is a vital and main road.
The Deputy Representative of the United Nations Development
Programme (UNDP) explained that work is underway to allocate the necessary budget for the restoration and rehabilitation of the bridge as quickly as
possible, in cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities in Syria.
