DAMASCUS, (ST) -The rehabilitation of centers supporting the industrial sector , both public and private sectors, is an important step in the current circumstances and establish a stage to re-boot industrial plants through the availability of technical, production and marketing support and the development of the capacity of human resources working in companies and institutions of the national industry .
The increasing challenges facing the arrivals to the labor market in the light of technological developments, the diversity of disciplines and levels of required qualification led to the need to prove the efficiency of the training for a growing range of disciplines and professions in this context, the process of the rehabilitation of Management and Productivity Development Center affiliated to the Ministry of Industry appears to play this role as the main manufacturer and developer of the human capabilities in the industrial sector.
According to Director of the National Program for Quality in Syria Rania Abed Rabbo said that the process of rehabilitation of Management and Productivity Development Center to become a body donor to certificates of competence of individuals and systems in accordance with international standards for management systems, is the first of its kind in Syria, where the labor market has not seen in Syria a demand for certificates of international competency before.
“The Syrian labor force represents a rate of 40 percent of the total population, noting to the great needs of the Syrian labor market for this type of certification to raise the efficiency of the Syrian arrivals to labor markets, whether national or foreign, along with the provision of trained staff that can promote the industrial sector and the business sector in Syria in the various technical and administrative, productivity and marketing aspects,” Abed Rabbo said.
“The process of rehabilitation of the center was to implement the document of the national program for quality adopted by the government in February last year, indicating that the implementation of the plan of rehabilitation the center included the formation of work teams and charged with specific groups of tasks according to the work plan and schedule for the implementation of which has been prepared on the basis of a preliminary assessment process included a review of the existing system in place in the center and comparing it with the requirements of the international standard ISO 17024,” Abed Rabbo added.
The rehabilitation process also included a number of courses, which focused on the creation and application of a quality management system for the project as an initial step and training the cadres’ center intensively and implementing a range of qualifying workshops on international standards for granting certificates for individuals and certificates management systems.
Director of the Center Wissal Hallaq stressed the need to find the necessary controls to keep the center cadres and expertise to the training and qualification of new generations in order to ensure the continuation of the process of training for cadres working in the economic and service sectors and the localization of these experiences.
