Rehabilitation of incubators at the “Salameyah” National Hospital

The General Commission of the “Salameyah” National Hospital repaired 6 incubators out of 10 ones in the hospital’s pediatric department.

Dr. Osama Melhem, director of the Hospital, told the Syrian News Agency that the incubator section within the hospital’s pediatric department offers services to large number of premature and newborn children or those who suffer from weight loss or any illness, and accommodates approximately 42 children per month around the clock.

For her part, nurse Fadia Husseino, head of the incubators department, said that the return of the incubators would serve the citizens in Salameyah are and its countryside, pointing out that the “Salameyah” National Hospital is the only one in the eastern countryside of Hama that offers services to premature and sick newborns and treats them in the first days and weeks of their birth..

Dima Al-Khatib, nurse in the hospital’s incubators department, stated that the child who needs to stay in the incubator is accepted according to a referral by the specialized doctor or by the obstetrics department in the hospital. She added that the child is monitored for several hours, and in parallel with making medical tests for him/her.
