Rehabilitation of 130 agricultural irrigation projects in DeirEzz-Zour

The implementation of agricultural irrigation projects in DeirEzz-Zour governorate constituted a turning point in the production process of the governorate, where the agricultural sector was subjected to a lot of sabotage and looting by the terrorist groups .

Director of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in DeirEzz-Zour , Eng. Asaad Al-Toukan indicated that with the liberation of the province from the abomination of terrorism in  2017, the top priority was given to the rehabilitation agricultural irrigation projects that took place in cooperation with governmental and civil efforts in addition to the international organizations.

 

Eng. Al-Toukan explained that the number of agricultural irrigation projects that were rehabilitated and put into service amounted to 130 projects distributed over the entire area of the governorate.

Head of the Farmers’ Union branch in DeirEzz-ZourKhazan Al-Sahwa indicated that the return of irrigation projects contributes to securing irrigation water, which is the most important part of the production process requirements and plays an important role in the return and stability of farmers in their villages and lands.

He noted the government’s efforts to rehabilitate irrigation projects and the measures taken by all concerned authorities to overcome all difficulties.
