Regular flights resume between Damascus and Jeddah after hiatus of 8 years

The Syrian Airlines on Thursday announced the resumption of its regular flights “Damascus – Jeddah – Damascus”, as the company’s first flight arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah today marking the resumption of flights between Damascus and Jeddah.

The Ministry of Transport explained on its Facebook account that regular flights have resumed after a hiatus of nearly 8 years, at a rate of two flights per week every Monday and Thursday, in addition to the regular operation of flights between Damascus and the Saudi capital, Riyadh, every Sunday and Friday. Thus, the number of flights via Syrian Air to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia becomes four per week.

The ministry noted that the flight was welcomed at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah with blessings for this step, which will bring closer the transportation ties between the two countries and will enhance the economic, commercial and tourism movement in all fields.

According to the ministry, today’s flight carried 81 passengers who departed from Damascus International Airport and 106 passengers returning from Jeddah.
