Red Cross Committee calls for delivering aid to northern Gaza

The International Committee of the Red Cross called for the necessity of delivering humanitarian support, including medical supplies, to the northern Gaza Strip, in light of the extermination war that the Israeli occupation has been waging on the Strip for more than a year.

WAFA news agency quoted the committee as saying in a statement today: The hospitals in the Strip are bearing a heavy burden and are struggling to meet their increasing needs, underlining the necessity of respecting and protecting medical facilities.

The International Committee stressed the necessity of providing protection to civilians in light of the forced evacuation orders issued by the occupation in northern Gaza, indicating that many cannot simply flee, as they include patients and people with disabilities, and that international and humanitarian law guarantees taking all possible measures to ensure that they are not harmed.

More than 400,000 Palestinians remain trapped in the northern Gaza Strip for the eleventh day, as the occupation forces continue their bombardment and ground invasion of Jabalia, Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia refugee camps in the northern Gaza Strip, amid starvation and a complete siege that prevents the entry of food, water, medicine or fuel.
