Rector of Damascus University discusses with delegations from Slovakia and Kazakhstan activation of scientific cooperation
On November 6, the Rector of Damascus University Dr. Maher Qabakibi discussed with the Rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia Professor Ferdinald Dano ways of developing scientific and academic cooperation relations between the two sides.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed to activate the previous scientific agreements and prepare for the signing of a new agreement in the field of economy, marketing, e-commerce and administration.
Dr. Qabakibi pointed to the Damascus University’s keenness in developing scientific relations with various universities in the world.
Professor Dano pointed out the importance of developing scientific research and benefit from Syrian academic expertise.
The meeting was attended by Bassim Sodan, the Head of Syrian Students National Union (SSNU)’s Foreign Branches Office.
On the other hand, the Rector of Damascus University Dr. Maher Qabakibi discussed with the Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Khairat Lama Sharif and the accompanying delegation the development of joint relations in the scientific and cultural fields.
The two sides discussed the ongoing preparations for the cultural celebration scheduled to be held at the University of Damascus next January on the occasion of 1150 years since the birth of the world Abu Naser Al-Farabi and the opening of the Farabi Cultural Center in Damascus.
Last September, Damascus University and Al-Farabi Kazakh University co-signed the memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the fields of student and academic exchange and exchange of experiences.
