Rector of Al-Baath University: The first Russian-Syrian forum is a step to consolidate scientific and cultural relations
Rector of Al-Baath University, Dr. Abdel Basset Al-Khatib, affirmed that the first Russian-Syrian 10-day forum organized by the University of the North Caucasus in Russia constituted a step to develop scientific and cultural relations between Syria and Russia and to activate the role of youth and highlight their capabilities and competencies.
Al-Khatib stated: “Participation in the forum aimed for dialogue in order to come up with ideas that contribute to developing work methods in the institutions of the two countries, in addition to highlighting the capabilities and competencies of young people in line with the circumstances and changes taking place in the world in various fields.”
Al-Khatib added: “25 male and female students from various Syrian universities participated in the forum, and presented many ideas and proposals that contribute to development and rebuilding.”
For his part, Vice Rector of Al-Baath University for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Maen Salameh, stressed the importance of the scientific cooperation agreement that was signed between Al-Baath University and the North Caucasus University, which includes conducting joint scientific research, supervising postgraduate theses, and student exchange between the two sides.
Salameh pointed out that it was agreed between the two universities on a set of matters related to cooperation between them and their implementation during the next year, the most important of which is the opening of the Russian language department in the Faculty of Arts at Al-Baath University.
In turn, the Secretary of Al-Baath University, Dr. Mahmoud Hadid, indicated that the visit to Russia and the participation in the forum had an important impact from the scientific, cultural and social point of view.
Hadid pointed out that he presented scientific research entitled (Development of the braking system in the drilling units of oil and gas wells).
Inas Abdulkareem
