Reconstruction and Development in Syria under Economic Sanctions Highlighted

DAMASCUS, (ST)-The Faculty of Economy of Damascus University on Wednesday kicked off its Scientific Conference “Reconstruction and Development in Syria” with the participation of a number of ministers as well as economic experts and academics. 

The two-day conference concentrates on policies related to the process of reconstruction and the rebuilding of the Syrian industry under the unjust economic sanctions.

The efficiency of the potentials of the Syrian economy to start the reconstruction era is also to be discussed.

Topics like the economic repercussions of the crisis in Syria, the losses caused to the agricultural and transport sectors, the challenges facing the process of financing reconstruction in the country, the types of funding, the role of the Syrian Investment Agency in reconstruction and speed recovery and the rehabilitation of the road networks are also to be tackled on the basis of sustainable development view.
