Receptions held in Tartous and Sweida for members of Kwairis Airport garrison

Tartous/Sweida – Tartous and Sweida Governorates organized two popular receptions with official participation for a number of members of the Kwairis Airport garrison in appreciation for their uncanny steadfastness which foiled all ISIS attempts to take over the airport for around three years.

At the reception held in front of the Governorate building in Tartous, Governor Safwan Abu Saadi and Secretary of al-Baath Party branch Ghassan Asaad delivered speeches in honor of the heroes of the airport, while garrison members Lt. Jaafar Esper and Lt. Ghanem Khalil spoke about their experience there, SANA reported.

 Meanwhile in Sweida, a reception was held in honor of pilot Col. Adham Abu Khair, with Abu Khair delivering a speech about how he and his colleagues persevered throughout the long siege they endured at the airport.

Sweida Governor Atef al-Naddaf, Secretary of al-Baath Party branch Ismael al-Hennawi, and Druze Shaykh al-Aql Yousef Jarbo’a delivered speeches in which they saluted the garrison and their resilience.
